Longbow’s Board of Advisors is comprised of industry leaders who help us gain additional high-level perspective on factors affecting Longbow, the energy industry, and the broader economy.
Larry Kelly
  • Chair of the energy special interest group for Band of Angels, a California based early-stage investment group with over 165 members.
  • Serial entrepreneur in information technology Industry.
  • Received SB in Mechanical Engineering and SM in Nuclear Science in Engineering from MIT and an MBA from Harvard.
Rhada Curpen
  • Managing Partner of the Bennett Jones Vancouver office and co-head of the firm’s Environmental Law and Aboriginal Law practices.
  • Over 30 years of legal and advisory experience, specializes in strategic counsel related to the environment, First Nations, wider ESG matters, gender equity issues, and the handling, transportation, and remediation of hazardous materials.
Dan Balaban
  • Founder and CEO of Greengate Power, one of the oldest and most successful private developers of renewable power in Western Canada.
  • Serial entrepreneur and former management consultant to two of the big four accounting firms.
  • Holds Bachelor of Science from University of Toronto.
Amy West
  • Managing Director and Global Head of TD Securities Sustainable Finance & Corporate Transactions group, working with corporate and institutional clients across Global Banking and Markets to provide ESG advice and solutions.
  • Prior to joining TD, worked with various other global financial
    institutions in investment banking and debt capital markets.
Clayton Woitas
  • Chairman and former Interim CEO of Encana Corporation, one of Canada’s largest natural gas producers.
  • Former CEO of Range Royalty Trust, which sold in 2005 for $700 million; former CEO of Profico Energy Management, which sold in 2005 for $1.2 billion.
  • Former CEO of Renaissance Energy.
Irfhan Rawji
  • Experienced institutional private equity investor, having worked with McKinsey & Company, Birch Hill Equity Partners, Onex Corporation and currently Managing Partner of Relay Ventures.
  • Holds an MBA with High Honors from Harvard Business School (Baker Scholar) and a BComm with High Honours from University of British Columbia (Wesbrook Scholar).
Don MacDonald
  • Founded Sanjel Corporation in 1982 and served as the CEO until 2010 at which time Sanjel was one of Canada’s largest private energy service companies with over 3,800 employees and 32 locations across North America and the Middle East.
Jeremy Freedman
  • Former President and CEO, Gluskin Sheff + Associates Inc. a publicly-traded independent investment firm.
Brian Butlin
  • Chairman and CEO of Vertex Resources Group.
  • Former CEO of Flint Energy Services Ltd., which was among the largest public Canadian energy services companies with over 7,500 employees, 49 North American locations and $1 billion of revenues at the time of its sale in 2012.
Drew MacIntyre
  • Vice Chairman, Investment Banking, TD Securities & Senior Vice President, TD Bank Group.
  • Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the firm’s energy investment banking business which specializes in all aspects of the energy sector, including oil and gas, pipelines, utilities and power from offices in Calgary, Toronto, Houston, London and New York.
Hugh MacKinnon
  • Chairman and CEO, Bennett Jones LLP, a premier Canadianbased law firm.
  • Chair of the Board of the C.D. Howe Institute, Chair of the Board of the Ontario Brain Institute, Co-Chair of the Canada Institute Advisory Board of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington D.C. and a member of the Advisory Board of Canada’s Outstanding CEO of the Year.
